Allosaurus Skeleton could sell for £500,000 at Auction

Published: 14th Sep 2015

The skeleton of a young Allosaurus, originally discovered at a quarry in Wyoming in the US is set to go up for auction in November. It is thought that this rare near-complete skeleton could sell for as much as £500,000. The Allosaurus skeleton is 2 metres long and has an articulated skull complete with dagger -like teeth. Allosaurus is a predatory flesh eating dinosaur that lived 150 million years ago.

The sale is to be handled by Summers Place Auctions, in Billingshurst, West Sussex who have experience in auctioneering dinosaurs having handled the sale of a long necked Diplodocus in 2013 for £400,000. Dinosaurs have a particularly special place in auctions attracting, collectors, and also someone wanting to add that special wow factor to either a business reception, shopping mall or even large living room!
